Painted from a photograph taken on the streets of Lisbon, 8 Towels captures one of those moments that stops you, a beautiful building, all sun-bleached facade and faded grandeur, draped in the most gloriously colourful washing.

It's a holiday painting at heart. The kind of bright, joyful colours that take you straight back to warm evenings, cobblestones, and that particular light you only seem to find in Southern Europe.

But there's something more here too. Those towels are a quiet reminder that behind every beautiful façade, real people live, work, and hang out their washing. When we travel, we're guests in someone else's everyday life, and how lucky we are for that.
